Spring '06

WOO HOO!  Y'all know what that title means?  I've started my
last semester of undergrad at TNU.  That means that I graduate on
May 6th, and the only requirement is that I pass one of the two IT
classes I'm taking (I'm also taking a religion class for credit, and
auditing another one that I am interested in but don't want to do the
homework for).  I'm almost done.  This is such a good feeling.

:: Click :: Goes the Little Silver Camera

I got my new camera in the mail Thursday (Circuit City was all out so
the clerk ordered it and had it shipped directly to my TNU Box).
The Canon Rebel T2 is very nice.  I actually want to take pictures
again.  When my other camera stopped working entirely right, I
lost interest for a little while.  Now I'm getting back into
it.  I just need to sit down and do a lot of reading to understand
a few of the features I've never used or seen before.

Favorite new features (that weren't on my old camera):
built in flash
continuous frame mode (keeps taking pictures as long as I hold the shutter release down)
seven point focus (I can tell it to only focus in one of the zones or
to decide for itself which is best, and I can set it to AI Servo, which
will keep a moving object in focus as I continuously shoot frames while
the object is moving is moving)

I got to head downtown with some friends on Thursday when it got in and
play around with some of the features.  One of these days, I'm
gonna sit down and figure everything out and use it to its
potential.  But for now, I have homework and work to do.

All Work and No Play

Why can't people follow procedure?  Why must they call 5 hours
before an event instead of the 24-48 hours required?  Why do we
keep being soft on them and not simply saying "You were late making
your request, and our procedure states that we cannot fulfill this
request."  I understand that I had plenty of time to set it up in
the 5 remaining hours, but what if someone else had the system
reserved?  These people keep doing this to us over and over and I
want to yell at them.  But I don't.  I set it up and try not
to complain.  I can't wait to get out of here.

Dance the Night Away

As is every Saturday night, tonight is again swing dancing.
McKendree @ 19:30 CST.  I'm gonna have another great evening of
learning and relaxing.  I'm taking the Lindy Focus DVD with me and
I'm gonna see if I can figure out some of the routines on there.
See y'all there!
